2025 Planisphere (25-37° N latitudes)

This colorful planisphere shows what's visible tonight for latitudes from 25 to 37 degrees north - covering the southern half of the contiguous USA.  Just align today's date to the time of day and then rotate the whole planisphere to match the direction you are viewing.  Now you'll know what that bright object is in the sky, because it includes the positions of Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn, as well as stars, constellations, bright nebulae, star clusters, and galaxies.  All constellations are plotted, as well as the ecliptic and Right Ascension and Declination coordinate ticks.  A photorealistic Milky Way completes the gorgeous view.

On the back side, choose the date and learn the phases of the Moon, Mercury and Venus, as well as any meteor showers.  In a small window you can see a list of which popular objects are well placed for viewing in the evening.  Weekends are highlighted, so by comparing the new Moon to a weekend you can determine the perfect time to trek out to a dark sky site for the best view of the stars.
